Stage 1: Trip preparations
Preparations for literary voyage underway. All essential items packed (see pic). Have packed entire reading list plus light reading in the form of Harry Potter and Tennyson. Spent a fortune at Gleebooks, joined “Gleeclub” in pursuit of literary inspiration… and discounts. Felt ashamed for not already being a member. (Blame parking situation in Glebe and note suburb is more friendly to dogs, bicycles and feet than to four-wheeled metal boxes.)
Suitcase on the heavy side. Suspect manservant in the manner of Passepartout from Around the World in Eighty Days would be handy. Have been channelling protagonist Phileas Fogg’s inner zen in preparation for not reading fast enough travel delays and other stressful events. Some packing remains eg snacks, passport, toothbrush. Good bookmark essential. Will research and revert.
