About this blog

Deliciously Ficititious is a site for book devourers.  Like me.

I’m an Australian writer, who now relies on contact lenses to see because of all the late nights spent reading in terrible lighting as a child. (Like a few words at a time in the streetlights when I was in the car, or under the covers by torchlight.)

I’ve spent time as a lawyer and a newspaper journalist. Now I’ve just taken the plunge and am writing my first novel. It’s a terrifying, exhilarating (and ongoing!) process… but I believe I’ve got all the requisite attributes to make it as an author: 2 cats; a love of tea; a collection of notebooks filled with illegible thoughts scribbled in the dead of night which, if I could read them, would probably turn out to be about as inspirational as a shopping list; and an antique typewriter that looks great - unused – on my desk.

But I digress… Given that I believe you can’t write without reading tons, I thought I could use this site – which started as a bit of a book review site for a university assignment a couple of years ago – to jot down thoughts about books as I go. Click here to read my review policy.

I’d love to hear your thoughts on these and other deliciously fictitious works too.

ps, I apologise for the mish mash but for old times’ sake I’ll be leaving some of my older posts on here, which have a different style and focus as they were part of a read-around-the-world challenge I set myself. New stuff starts from May 2012.
